Broadview Heights Parks and Recreationis pleased to announce a year of partnership with Challenger Sports, providers of the USA’s most popular soccer camp, to host the week long British Soccer camp during the week of Aug 5th – 9th  at Broadview Center.

The camp will run Monday through Friday and each child will be coached by a member of Challenger’s British coaching staff flown to the USA exclusively to work on these programs. Challenger will hold over 3,800 British Soccer Camps this summer and will coach over 130,000 players between the ages of 3 and 18, as well as completing FREE coach education clinics for over 30,000 parents and coaches.
British Soccer Camp
Challenger’s British Soccer Camp is more than a week of drills and skills. In addition to taking part in a daily regimen of foot skill development (through the 1,000 touches curriculum), technical and tactical practices and daily ‘World Cup’ tournament style plays, each child will be treated to a rich cultural experience and lessons on respect, responsibility, integrity, leadership and sportsmanship. Each camp is custom built to meet the needs of your players so Challenger will be directed by the organization on the content of the camp that they too require.

Each camper will receive a FREE camp T-shirt, soccer ball, soccer poster, individual skills performance evaluation and free access to an educational soccer website. In addition, any child who signs up onlineby June21st will receive a genuine British Soccer replica Jersey valued at $39.

When and Where are games?

 

U6 “Munchkin” teams (age under 6) play Saturday mornings at 9:00 AM or 10:30 AM.

U8 “In House” teams play Saturdays at 10:30 AM or 12:00 PM. Teams play the same time each week.

U10 through U14 teams play in the Suburban Recreational Soccer League (SRSL) and play home games in Broadview Heights and away games in nearby communities such as Seven Hills, Parma and Middleburg Hts. Games are played throughout the day Saturdays with an occasional weekday game.

 

Games for the Fall 2013 season begin September 7th and run 8 weeks.


Players placed on a team in the Fall outdoor league will remain with their same team for the six week Spring season which begins in April 2014.

 

When and Where are Practices?

Practices begin late August on a day and time determined by the coach. Practices are during the week at either 5:30 or 6:30.

 

COACHES NEEDED! Please indicate on your child’s registration form if you are willing to coach.

Jewelry

No jewelry of any kind is allowed to be worn during games.  This includes newly pierced ears.  They cannot be covered with tape but must be removed.

 Age is as of 8/1/13.

 Any player wishing to play in a league other than the league designated by their age, MUST fill out a league change request prior to the registration deadline.

 League change is subject to approval by the Recreation Director.  Players younger than 4 can register but must request to "move up" to the Munchkin league.  If we are not able to accomodate that request you will recieve a refund.

 

 

 

 

 
 
No Jewelry Soccer Rule PDF Print E-mail


Per league rules, soccer players are not allowed to wear jewelry of any kind during a soccer match. This includes earrings, bracelets and necklaces. Only Medical Alert bracelets are allowed. Earrings cannot be taped over. They must be removed for the duration of the game.
