New State of Ohio Concussion Law |

To the Parents/Guardian of all Broadview Heights Youth Sports Participants,
In April of 2013, a new law goes into effect in the state of Ohio that requires all youth sports instructors and coaches to complete concussion awareness training. It also requires that all parents receive a document prepared by the Ohio Department of Health that educates parents regarding the symptoms and treatment of concussions. Here is the link to the information required to be provided to all participants (provided by the Department of Health): Concussion Awareness. Please review this information prior to your child participating in any youth sports program.
Please know that we are enthusiastically supportive of this initiative. The safety of the participants in our programs is extremely important to us. Our staff, coaches and officials are in the process of taking the required training. Going forward, this information will automatically print out with every registration receipt. The information will also be posted permanently on our web site at www.bhrec.org.

Swim Team Information:
Summer Session: 6/4 – 7/25 (No practice on 7/4)
Parent Meeting 5/28 at 7:00PM at the Recreation Center in the Pool Party Room
Archery:
Our next session of Youth Archery begins Tuesday and Thursday, June 4th and 6th respectively. There are still spots available in the 11 and up age group, sign up today!
Indoor Youth Volleyball:
Session will begin the week of June 24th and take place on Mondays and Wednesdays. Sessions will be divided by age groups and be broken down into a 1:00PM session and a 3:00PM session. The program will run through July 31st.

We market these offerings through our bi-annual Parks & Recreation Brochure. The brochure offers in-depth program information, facility amenities, special events and more! An advertisement of your company or service in our brochure will reach a market of motivated, self-directed people who place a high priority on enriching their lifestyles.
Circulation Information
11,000+ copies are distributed two times per year. They are direct mailed to every household in Broadview Heights. Additional copies are available at the Recreation Center. The brochure is also listed at www.bhrec.org.
